I thought I'd give this a try! I've always enjoyed reading other people's blogs, and I keep seeing more people talk about bringing the old internet back in a way and building community, and that's something I'd love to do! Plus it seems really fun and I think this would be a cool place to write down ideas and thoughts all in one place!
The internet seemed so much more fun back then. It's really a shame that everyone I've ever known in my life is on Instagram or TikTok mostly, because I would love to delete those stupid apps forever(But I can't because I'd lose connection to friends I've made and also sadly have to use it to promote my art and small business). I've never really been into social media, the algorithm, and marketing because it all feels so gross and icky to me personally. Especially now they're so full of slop and ads, and I'm incredibly tired of it all.
Kids these days just have social media slop and addictions, and I feel so bad for them because it's all they've known, and they have no dedicated spaces like I did as a kid. I was so big into virtual worlds back then and still am now, but it's been so sad to see them all slowly disappear over the years. It's scary to think that in the future kids might be nostalgic for TikTok videos or Instagram reels....Yikes!
I have been using Tumblr as a blog type thing for awhile but I really want a place to call my own because as I've found out your account can be taken from you at any moment, which is what happned with my Tumblr, I got suspended for no reason, Luckily I got it back but it does worry me I could loose everything I've put on there & memories on there in a split second.
I'm trying to get better at not doomscrolling as much and watching more longform content on YouTube, which I've been increasingly getting better at over the years! I watch a lot of streams that have been reuploaded to YouTube (Jerma, Caseoh etc.) , Podcasts (Dan & Phil Hard launch, Crafting ect), as well as a lot of YouTube Let's Players/people who play video games like Game Grumps.I also watch a lot of other artists & Small businesses on there too!
My goal is to update this thing daily and use it like a journal, but idk I might get busy or forget. But I'll update this as often as I remember to :)
